Individually Focused

While Montessori children learn together, each student’s course is individually determined with one-on-one guidance from the teacher. Montessori children follow their passion wherever that passion leads, however quickly it leads them, regardless of what other students in the class are doing. By taking ownership of their learning, Montessori students joyfully and effectively learn independence, responsibility and initiative. They become leaders, innovators and lifelong learners.

Experience Based

Each Montessori classroom is designed to allow each child to engage on their developmental level. Shelves are in reach. Objects like tables and water pitchers are sized for smaller hands. Unique learning tools like the Pink Tower or the Brown Stairs are designed to let students engage and learn in ways that are physical, practical – and fun. The result is a world where life lessons and key academic concepts aren’t taught so much as they are discovered. Students learn better as each engages in his or her own way. Montessori classrooms span 3-year age ranges instead of a single year, students learn from those who are older or younger than themselves too. Recent neuropsychological research shows that enriched, experimental learning environments actually do help children build better brains. Universities are still studying the approach developed by Maria Montessori in the late 1800's, and our students are still reaping the rewards.
