I want to start off my newsletter by thanking everyone who participated in our 2017 Gala, Let the Good Times Roll at Mardi Gras! The event was a big success and a wonderful time was had by all. We are especially excited about the funds raised to resurface the playground area and we will be getting to work on that project shortly.
The last few weeks have been busy ones at FVMS. Our staff attended the 2017 Association of Illinois Montessori Schools Professional Development Conference, held for the first time at Benedictine University in Lisle. This two day event offered professional development experiences for all levels of teachers and administrators.
Thank you also to everyone who came out to BD Mongolian Grill to enjoy some guest cheffing and healthy food.
Our Upper Elementary Students spent a week at Nature’s Classroom Institute in Lake Geneva this month. They enjoyed the experience of being away from home without family, deep learning opportunities and making new friends at the NCI school.
Registration is open for Summer Camps at FVMS. We have camps for Toddlers, Primary and Elementary camp. Registration is due Friday, March 24th.
The deadline to notify the office that your child will not be returning for next school year has passed. We will be charging deposit tuition for this students returning and sending out a form to choose your tuition payment plan for next year as well. Families will have the choice of 10 monthly payments, 2 semi-annual payments with a 2.5% discount, and an annual payment with a 5% discount.
The last month has been such a busy one, and with so much activity at school, I wanted to share a quote from Dr. Montessori that I have been thinking about. “We must help the child to act for himself, will for himself, think for himself; this is the art of those who aspire to serve the spirit.” (Education for a New World, p. 69) Enjoy your spring break!
