Learn More About Fox Valley Montessori

What is Montessori? I hear that kids choose their own work, what does that look like? Isn't it dangerous to allow them to walk alone in the hallways? How will my Kindergartner be able to learn if he is in the same room as a three year old? Do they have to be potty trained to be in preschool?  What will the classroom look like with the social distancing requirements? Where are the classroom computers?   Isn’t it expensive to attend a Montessori school? These and many more questions are ones we receive from parents inquiring into Fox Valley Montessori School.

Traditionally, when you would look into one of our classrooms while touring the school, you will most likely see students moving around the room freely while others are working at a table or at a rug on the floor.  For those of us who grew up attending a conventional school with a teacher at the front of the room and rows of desks for students, it may look from outside the classroom like there is little direction.  Our trained  Montessori teachers are aware of the activity going on and are making notes about their observations of the children and the work they are doing. Please take a look at this link to learn more about why you should consider Montessori for your child.

Fox Valley Montessori School is an authentic Montessori school.  We are fully accredited by the American Montessori Society, we have a licensed Toddler room and our Elementary program is also recognized as a non-public school through the Illinois State Board of Education.  All of this together means we provide the best Montessori education for your child.

Fox Valley Montessori School is also a 501(c)(3), which means parents have a monthly financial investment for their children to attend and it means we also do fundraising throughout the year.  We work hard to provide the authentic Montessori education and keep qualified, trained and exceptional staff at our school. We also accept the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) for children in Toddler and Primary.

We invite you to set up a tour and see for yourself. You can get a glimpse inside the classrooms and learn more about the advantages of a Montessori education. We want you to see how the rooms are set up so the child succeeds. We have spots available in all of our programs for the 2020-2021 school year. FVMS is continuing to monitor state and local guidelines, and will be making recommended modifications to prioritize the health and safety of our students and families.
