1. Oh, The Places You’ll Go by Dr. Suess
I remember reading this book when I was a child. I never wanted the book to end. I would re-read it simply because it was so engaging. I loved the riddles, the pictures and the kid-friendly tone of voice. It’s a great read for your early elementary child. It’s fun too!
2. The Polar Express by Chris Van Allsburg
Not only is this a perfect read for the holiday season that is quickly approaching, but it’s also a fun read! Better yet, this book is a movie too! After your child is done reading the book, you can sit down for a movie night and enjoy watching this movie with them. I guarantee they will love it (especially if you make yourselves a big bowl of popcorn and lots of hot chocolate)!
3. The Complete Tales of Winnie the Pooh by A. A. Milne
Who doesn’t love Winnie the Pooh? I know growing up I loved watching Winnie the Pooh any time of the day that it was on! The books were also one of my favorites growing up. Winnie the Pooh is a great childhood classic that I bet your child will love!
4. Amelia Bedelia by Peggy Parish
Amelia Bedelia is a series of books that are absolutely hilarious! Not only are they a fun read, but they are super engaging for any early elementary child – even if your child isn’t big on reading. The best thing is that this is a series! If your child loves one book, they can complete the entire series!
