I want to take some time this month to express my gratitude for all that our parents and family community do for FVMS. Our school would not be able to provide anywhere near the level of experience to the children without your constant support and hard work.
All of the little (and not so little) things that parents take care of in our school, like mending a broken fence, checking a leaky pipe, or washing walls, are so important to us so that we can continue to focus on the children. Volunteers who help with sounds and reading provide extra valuable one on one time for each child in the class.
Our fundraising committee has grown and increased its efforts over the years to help us keep tuition costs lower as our operating costs rise and build stronger community relationships in the process. We are all grateful to Jan DuRall and her team for their endless efforts with this committee. Our annual gala committee and its chair, Caitlin Hazelton, and Co-Chair, Jessica Baer, produced an amazing event this year, raising valuable funds for the school and increasing awareness of our excellent programs in our greater Aurora community. The long hours and detailed planning that go into this event are awesome and we greatly appreciate everyone’s efforts. Work will begin on our playground in the next few weeks so the children will be able to enjoy it this summer.
The Parent Liaison Committee (PLC) here at FVMS, with chairs Kristen Osterhaus and Celeste Pinnello, is key in matching willing volunteers with jobs that need to be done at school. They work all year to make sure that each classroom receives clear information about school dates and events. The PLC also plans our teacher appreciation week every year and gives our staff the royal treatment for that week!
The FVMS board of directors, led by president Dan Hipp, supports me in my role as head of school and they concentrate on knowing the school’s operations intimately enough to help me make the best decisions for our school community and your children. The board’s dedication to preserving and increasing the quality of programs and the level of support that they provide to us in the school is unparalleled by any school in our area and key to FVMS’ success.
These are just a few examples of the amazing support that FVMS enjoys from our school community, and we are all so grateful for that support!
